Gods Lake

In the very short time that you have owned the lodge you have made some great changes. One in particular is the friendliness of the staff and the feeling that guests are truly appreciated.

I know that you want to make a lot of changes to the facilities and equipment and realize that it costs a lot of money to make those changes. Hopefully the word will get out very quickly that you are a guest friendly lodge and your business will prosper beyond your greatest expectations.

I enjoyed it more than I could tell you. Little Anna is a sweetheart and you both work your tails off! You deserve a five star rating on service! All things considered, this has to be one of the best fishing camps in the world! I'll be coming back for more!

My brother Tom and I had a very good week of fishing earlier this month at Gods Lake Lodge. We caught many fish and a lot of big ones including 5 Master Angler fish (2 walleyes, 2 brook trout and 1 lake trout). The food was superb and the service was outstanding. The trip down the God's River with Junior as our guide was a lot of fun and unlike anything we have ever done.

We would highly recommend Olafson's Gods Lake Lodge as a place to go for an enjoyable fishing trip. I'm enclosing copies of an article from last week's St. Paul Pioneer-Press that was written by Chris Niskanen who was at the Lodge when we were there. This was also reprinted this week in the Fargo Forum.

Tom and I are looking forward to returning to Gods Lake Lodge in 2008.

Great new cabins! We stayed in the old ones and loved the character. Best guides of any trip I've ever taken anywhere. Great support staff and management. The fishing is the best…the weather you can't control. Best customer service I've ever experienced.

All good, two guides were especially good. Still prefer the old cabins, although my wife probably would want the new lodge cabins. Much attention given to improvement over last year when you took over.

In August of 2007 I had the pleasure of visiting Gods Lake Lodge for 8 days of fishing. As a full time guide in Connecticut, I'd like to think that I know a bit about customer service and putting people on fish. After hearing the stories, I had high expectations of my trip and I could not have been happier with the results. Lee and Lynn were perfect hosts. The guides were polite, extremely knowledgeable and hard working. The accommodations we're excellent.

The fishing far exceeded my expectations. We had an unfortunate stretch of bad weather during my stay yet even on my worst day I caught 50 pike. During the course of my trip I lost count of how many pike over 40 inches I caught. When it came time to get lunch or dinner together we would find the nearest rock pile and catch however many walleye we wanted, it really was that easy. If you should decide to visit Gods Lake Lodge, a trip for brook trout on Gods River is an absolute must. Prior to my trip I spoke with some well known experts on brookies and was told that the river was one of the top 5 brookie waters in the world. My partner and I landed 25 brook trout in about 10 hours of fishing, not one of them was smaller than 18 inches. On my last day there, the weather finally laid down enough so that we could get way out on the lake and jig for lake trout. There were an amazing number of fish out in the deep water.

The scenery and wildlife were spectacular. I saw bear, eagles, loons, mink, marten as well as the northern lights. If you want a remote fishing destination where you can fish as much or as little as you want with all the comforts of home, Gods Lake Lodge is the place. I've already booked my dates for my return trip; I can't wait to get back! See you soon Lee, Lynn and Anna.
